Faith's Dinner at Din Tai Fung (鼎泰豐)

What food did I try?:

Here is a list of the foods that I tried:

  • Braised Eggplant - grown locally in Taiwan and full of flavor from its special blend of sauces
  • Pork Xiaolongbao - translates to “little dumpling in a basket.” Originating from the Jiangnan region of China, pork xiaolongbao are dumplings filled with soup and pork.
  • Braised Beef Noodle Soup - slow-cooked beef bone broth with stewed tender cuts of beef, served with fresh egg noodles made in-house
  • Green Squash and Shrimp Xiaolongbao - soup dumplings with green squash and shrimp
  • Shredded Pork Fried Rice (With Egg) (Brown Rice) - fluffy fried rice with fried egg, vegetables and pork
  • Golden Lava Buns - hot buns filled with salted egg yolk custard
How did I feel when I tried it?:

I had heard of Din Tai Fung before coming to Taiwan and was so excited to try it out. I knew that it was famous for its xiaolongbao, which is now my favorite, but I also enjoy all of its delicious offerings. It is now a go-to whenever I want a nice and delicious meal.

How is the food prepared?:

Each dish is prepared differently, but Din Tai Fung is known for its xiaolongbao. They take the process of making xiaolongbao very seriously. You can even watch the chefs make them in the window of the restaurant.
