Living in a new country, in a new language, wasn’t always easy, but it helped me grow in ways I never expected. I’ve gained confidence in myself and a better understanding of what I’m capable of.
But one of the most special parts of this journey was being able to share it. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be paired with your class. I hope that in some small way, my journey has inspired you to explore the world around you. Thank you for being part of my experience. Please keep asking questions and exploring, and never stop being curious. As you continue your education in high school and beyond, I hope you will consider seeking out opportunities for global learning like the Fulbright Program, which supported me to live in Portugal for a year. Maybe one day, you’ll be the ones sharing your own adventures with students somewhere else in the world.
