Besides Fulbright, there are many other international scholarship programs that you can find if you take the time to ask the adults in your life for assistance and do some searching for yourself online. I know, for all of you, college decisions will be a long way away. So, in the meantime, I truly believe that choosing to learn another language is a goal that will help you in a variety of ways. It acts as an educational advantage, a way to grow socially and a method for personal growth and empathy.
As my time to speak with you draws to a close, I want to offer a very heartfelt thank you to Ms. Castro and Mr. Mohan, as well as all of you. Your excitement about my stories made them feel fresh and exciting to me, too. In the weeks we have been journeying together, I often found myself thinking, “How can I best share this experience with my Reach the World class?” That thought allowed me to think more deeply about all of the places I saw and things I tried.
