Hi, everyone! I can't believe this will be my last journal. I have really enjoyed meeting you and hearing about your interests in Colombia!

I am currently getting back into the swing of my spring semester classes. I am really enjoying my Language and Cultures Club, where we talk to our students about different aspects of American culture. Last week, we taught our students dances like the Cupid Shuffle, the Cotton Eye Joe and the Cha Cha Slide. It was so much fun!

This past weekend, we took a trip to Venecia, a small town nearby, where we hiked up Cerro Tusa, the tallest climbable natural pyramid in the world! I am not the best hiker, so I was a little worried I wouldn't make it to the top since the hike was very steep, but we all made it in the end. The view from the mountain was absolutely spectacular, and I attached a picture so you can enjoy it, too.

I don't have much final wisdom to share except to keep taking Spanish! I started learning Spanish by taking it in school because it was required, and over time, I really started to fall in love with it and all of the opportunities learning Spanish could provide me with. Either within or outside of the U.S., speaking Spanish can provide the possibility of connecting with so many new people and cultures.
