I can’t believe that we have already spent time getting to know one another for 11 weeks! Time flies by so quickly. Although our journey together is coming to an end, I hope you were able to learn about South Korean culture and see what life can be like in a different country.

I have been in Korea for about five months now, and I've found that living in a different country is a challenging but fun experience. I am learning a little more Korean every day, and I got a library card for my city’s public library! I have been borrowing Korean children’s picture books and reading them with the history teacher at my high school every week. As young students in America, we use picture books to help us learn new words and practice reading in English, so I wanted to do the same thing to learn more Korean!

One of the reasons why I joined the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Program was that I had a lot of friends from Korea who went to my elementary school. Recently, I was able to meet up with one of my Korean elementary school friends in Seoul! Seoul is a big city with lots of fun activities, landmarks and attractions. My friend took me all around Seoul, and we visited the Gyeongbokgung National Palace, the Starfield Library and Namsan Tower!
