1. Be open and take risks!
Be open to everything! Although we come from different backgrounds and cultures, it is important to respect and appreciate those differences. Every culture is special, and shapes what we eat, what we believe in and what we like or dislike.
Example: I had three different opportunities to try duck tongue. I refused the first two times because the idea of eating tongue seemed very strange at the time. But I decided to be brave and try the third time. And you know what? I loved it.
So when people ask me to try different kinds of food, I say YES! But sometimes it’s hard to bring yourself to give it a try, especially when it’s pig brain.
2. Ask questions!
If you don't know what is going on, ask! We are all human beings and do things for a reason. It is easy to judge another person without trying to understand their actions and reasoning first.
Example: Although there are trash and recycling bins in China, I have seen many people throw plastic water bottles into the trash without a glance.
