As our time draws to a close, I want to say how grateful I am to have gotten to know all of you and answer your questions. You all have such bright and inquisitive minds! It has been a joy to share my journey in Hungary with each and every one of you.

This is my last journal and I would like to make it count by imparting some wisdom that applies to both your current life and your future if you ever pursue the chance to live and study abroad (something I hope you all get the opportunity to do).

First, build a strong community and keep them close. That can include your family, your friends, your teachers and coaches and so many others. These are the people who will support you on your saddest days and celebrate with you on your most joyous. While living in Hungary, I still text with my family every day and call my friends whenever I get the chance. It can be hard with the 6 hour time difference but it is always worth it. I am especially grateful for all the teachers and mentors that helped me work towards the Fulbright. I still do my best to reach out to them and keep them posted on how I am doing. It has also been important to connect with people here as well.
