Our city has a lot of nutritious hay that is used for cattle. This hay was so nutritious and clean that it used to be known across the nation as "Forney Blackland Prairie Hay".

The prevalence of rain in this area has reminded us about our bad-weather days for school. It is not uncommon for us to experience more than one type of seasonal weather in a single week around this part of the country, and into every school year is built four "bad weather" days. If we do not use them to excuse school due to bad weather, they are held over and used April for a four-day weekend! According to Punxsutawney Phil--the groundhog who foretells the weather from Pennsylvania--we are due an early spring!
