Mostly Turkish, but people speak a little Arabic, too. Turkish has been the official language of Turkey since 1923, when Turkey became a country.
People use Turkish Liras (TL)! They come in 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 TL bills. There are also .01, .05, .10, .25, .50, and 1 Lira coins.
A regular-sized bottle of water is about 10 TL. A U.S. dollar is equal to about 19 TL, so the price is a little more than 50 cents for water, here. I'd say that was pretty good!
A kahvalti (kah-VAL-teh)! This is Turkish for "traditional Turkish breakfast."
When you get a traditional Turkish breakfast, you get a lot of different plates. First, you get an egg and lots of different breads. Then, you get lots of cheeses and vegetables, as well as some spicy dipping sauces. Last, you get sweet toppings like butter, Nutella and honey.
It is all totally delicious!
