Our News

Some of the new words that I learned this week include escogerse, the verb to shrink; pálido, pale; and arruga, wrinkle. Fun words that make you want to enter the magical world that Alice is exploring!

What games or sports did I play this week?:

This week we played two games: Tabletop air hockey and UNO. Both are quite popular in the U.S., but they have an Argentine twist. During air hockey, the puck even flew out the window once! We might need to start wearing helmets. The second game was a version of UNO. This card game is normally a fun-loving family game. In Argentina, if you hear a lot of yelling, people are playing UNO. The rounds go by quickly, involve a lot of laughing, and include new rules created to win. In Argentina, they call it UNO agresivo or aggressive UNO.

Other news from this week:

Do you recycle cans, bottles, or plastic? In parts of Argentina it can be difficult to find places to put your trash. However, in Uruguay and in Buenos Aires, the corners are home to recycling bins! Not only does it keep the city clean, but it keeps the planet and the ocean healthy!
