Germany's Gorgeous Linden Trees

How does it use its environment to survive?:

The trees use their roots to dig down deep into the city soil to gather as much water as they can. Their heart-shaped leaves are designed to capture as much sunlight as possible to maximize photosynthesis. In the fall, the trees drop their leaves, which decompose and enrich the soil around them so that the trees can remain healthy.

What can harm this creature or plant? Are we worried about it?:

There are many things that can harm these linden trees in Berlin. Droughts in the summer can put a lot of stress on the trees and take away vital water from the soil. This could cause the trees to die. Further, air pollution and traffic emissions can contaminate the trees and the soil around them, which may harm their ability to thrive.
