As you can imagine, my grandparents look forward to having me closer to them for a whole year. Fortunately, my mom did a good job of introducing me to a lot of Japanese foods at home, so I won't be totally out of my depth in that regard. I feel very happy and fulfilled to finally reach my goal of studying abroad in Japan, and I hope to get even better at the language.
My hobbies include creative writing (which for me is a fancy way of saying fan fiction), painting and drawing, and drinking tea. How fortunate for me that Japan is the perfect place to find all of these things! Japan has loads of high quality yet inexpensive stationery, paints, pens, paper, stickers and the like. It's cheaper for me to get my art supplies in Japan rather than in America because they don't have to be shipped overseas. Now that I live in the same country in which they're made, I don't have to pay for shipping. It's truly a dream come true!
I'm very excited to share my time in Japan with you! My grandparents have a lot of activities planned for me to make my time in Japan truly special. I'll have a lot to share, from day-to-day parts of life such as food and transportation, to special things like visiting the Nara National Museum. I hope everyone will enjoy going on this journey with me!
