In a practical sense, it is a great payment system. My favorite thing about T-money, however, is that they come in all different designs! In a sense, your choice of T-money card is a form of self-expression. Popular designs include the cute cartoon characters from the Line Friends brand and various K-pop groups. When the limited edition T-money cards for world-famous K-pop group BTS released, they sold out in Seoul within an hour. Other designs include famous art pieces and traditional Korean motifs. Another interesting aspect of Seoul’s transportation is the TVs that are installed on most buses. The channel is almost always airing a variety show, which is an entertainment show that can have musical performances, comedy sketches, games and more. No matter what type of variety show it is, there will always be an element of comedy. It’s a unique experience to sit on a bus and share a chuckle with another passenger while watching TV together. The Seoul transportation system has become a part of my everyday life and in many ways, it makes me feel more in sync with my environment.
