Community Development in Ghana!

The laundry gets hand washed every day before sunrise in the early morning.

What is your family like?:

My family is large, but of course, most of them are in the United States. Here in Ghana, I have my wife, my mother and my two-year-old daughter who keep me very busy outside of managing the restaurant.

How do you get around?:

I get around by car. In the beginning, it was hard to rely on taxis and Uber. We had to save and do the proper paperwork in order to obtain a Ghanaian driver's license here.

What types of clothing do you like to wear?:

Unless I'm participating in a traditional Ghanaian event or ceremony, I wear my regular clothes. Most Ghanaians dress in regular clothes, but we wear sandals with almost everything.

What do you like to do in your free time?:

In my free time, I like to spend time with the family, relax and continue to explore Ghana.

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

I speak English. My wife is Ghanaian, so I do try to speak a little Twi, but I'm not very good at it!

Do you have pets?:

We don't have any pets at home.

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

Yes, I have traveled to Benin and Togo, which are not that far from Ghana. I have also traveled to South America.

What do you do for work?:

I run my own business, Born Again Afrikan Restaurant & Lounge.

Is there anything else you would like to say to students in the United States?:

Yes.
