Community Development in Ghana!

Introduction:

I interviewed Yazid Muhammad, an African American born in New York and raised in Virginia Beach. He moved to Ghana in 2009 with his mother, Brenda Muhammad, to join the community development of the Pan African Diaspora community. Their journey expanded into doing business in a larger community. Mr. Muhammad stated, "I started out with a computer training school, but wanted to focus on having a soul food restaurant. The menu consists of African American soul food and traditional Ghanaian cuisine. For example: barbeque chicken with jollof rice, plantains and upsidedown cake."

The food was amazing and there was even a park located below the restaurant, where we could relax, play and enjoy the beautiful view of Ghana. See photos of my daughter enjoying the park!

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

I live in the Eastern Region of Ghana. My house is very simple, just the basics. We don't like to get too involved in buying any expensive material items. The whole house is made out of cement and marble. Three bedrooms, backyard, living room, kitchen and parking garage. Because the weather is always warm, we don't need to invest in a washer and dryer.
