The weather this week has been very warm and dry. It's the middle of Cambodia's dry season, and it has only rained once in the past two months. Since the beginning of February, the weather has also grown hotter, with some days reaching up to 98° F. Since most places don't have air conditioners, fans are a lifesaver!
This week I saw lots and lots of cows, dogs, chickens, cats, geckos, and even some monkeys.
In the villages surrounding my town, there are many families that own cattle. One of my favorite parts of my evening bike rides in the countryside is getting to ride my bike alongside small parades of cows as they are herded back from the pasture. This week, I saw a lot of cute little calves walking alongside their mothers!
There are lots of dogs and cats in Cambodia, and I often see cats sunbathing on a roof and dogs gnawing on bones they've found. Many families keep dogs and cats around to ward off pests, to eat food scraps and to protect against intruders.
