¡Hola! Hello! My name is Hannah Holmes, and I am 21 years old. I was raised in the Pine Barrens forest of New Jersey but decided the mountains were the place for me and moved to Pennsylvania to attend Bucknell University! At university, I study biology, environmental science, and Spanish. There are many native Spanish speakers in my hometown, so there was no surprise that I wanted to continue studying the Spanish language in college.
I am also so lucky to take part in research on fireflies, regenerative agriculture, and social justice. My research gave me a new perspective on science, and my projects allows me to try all different types of work, like genetics, farming and gardening, and working with my community. I love to grow food but also cook it and create my own dishes and recipes. I also love to read about science and nature, paint lots of flowers and butterflies, and explore the mountains of Pennsylvania.
I am currently studying abroad in Costa Rica, where I am taking classes about the tropical rainforest, agriculture, human rights, and Spanish (of course!). I cannot wait to share my time in Costa Rica with you all and to hear about your class!
