A Day in the Life of Martín

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

I live in a suburb of Seville called Castilleja de la Cuesta. Its proximity, size and sense of community all make it pretty similar to Hastings! My house is a white, three-story, semi-detached house.

What is your family like?:

In my family, we are very united. Here, people usually don't move out until after college, so I live at home with my parents and my sister Carmen, who is 19 years old.

How do you get around?:

In my city, I walk, bike or take the bus. In Spain, because of the way the cities are built (many are old with very narrow cobblestone streets), it's very normal to walk everywhere and use a car as little as possible, especially because gas prices are higher now due to the war in Ukraine.

What types of clothing do you like to wear?:

I always say that I can divide my closet into three parts: nicer clothing like polos and button-downs, casual clothes like sweatshirts and t-shirts and workout clothes. In Seville, the culture is very formal, and people will not be allowed into certain restaurants or clubs if they are not dressed properly, so even though I don't really like to wear my nicer clothes, I sometimes have to anyway.

What do you like to do in your free time?:

I love music! I play four instruments (guitar, bass, drums and the Flamenco box), and I produce music. I also go to the gym and practice mixed martial arts. Although I do all of this in my free time, I take it all very seriously.
