Xin chào mọi người! (Hello, everyone!) My name is Harris Risell. I'm 25 years old and I grew up in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, not too far from Philadelphia. I went to Dickinson College, also in Pennsylvania, where I studied English literature. Many people from different countries go to Dickinson to study, so when I was there, I met people from all over the world. After college, I started teaching English in my home town. Many of my students were immigrants or people who moved from different countries to the U.S. to live. Most of these people were older than me and already had their own jobs and children, too! They often told me that I was like their son or younger brother. I loved working with them. A year later, I moved to Vietnam, and for almost a year and a half now, I've been living and working in Soc Trang, a province in the Mekong Delta region of southern Vietnam. I teach English at Soc Trang Community College, or STCC. When I'm not teaching, I spend time with students and friends at coffee shops and pagodas, eat too much, study Vietnamese and Khmer, and travel around Soc Trang. I hope we can learn a lot from each other during our time together. Tôi rất mong được gặp các bạn! (I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!)
