How Do I Get From One Place to Another?

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

When I tried riding the train for the first time, I was a bit nervous! The station had many different trains and tracks and I was scared of getting on the wrong train and ending up somewhere completely different. At first, I had to ask the train station workers and check many times to make sure I was right, but after I got used to it, it became very easy! I think the most helpful thing was to read the signs that are above every track, which lets you know where it will go. The slower trains that I use to get around every day are often quite crowded and there are no reserved seats, so I mostly stand unless I can find an empty seat. To ride the bullet trains, you need to buy a ticket for a seat and they are similar to airplane seats! They have little trays for eating, cupholders and seats that can recline. I love riding bullet trains because they go so fast!

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

Yes! Trains have been in Japan for 150 years and are a very, very important part of life for thousands and thousands of people. People depend on trains to get to work every day, go grocery shopping, or go anywhere for any reason! Having trains also helps reduce the amount of space needed for cars because if everyone in Tokyo had a car, between traffic on the road and parking, it would be incredibly crowded. Not only does using the train save space, but also it is friendlier for the Earth! With fewer cars on the road, there is less harm to the environment from the various chemicals that cars emit.
