Hello, everyone,
I am Diana and I am excited to meet you! I live in Portland, Oregon for most of the year, however, I grew up in Oakland, California. I live in Portland now because I go to college at Lewis & Clark. Our mascot is the Newfoundland dog represented by a dog named Pio! Although my family lives in Oakland, they are originally from Mexico City, Mexico. I live with my mom, dad and younger brother. I love being in nature as much as I can. I love going on small hikes around my school and at home. One time, I was able to see a baby deer during my hike. But I also love swimming, playing soccer, watching movies and baking.
There are many things that encouraged me to travel abroad. One of them is my love for learning languages. Growing up, I spoke Spanish with my family and in high school, I learned French for four years. Now in college, I am learning Arabic. I find the written language of Arabic really beautifully. For example, "مرحبا," this is pronounced "Marhabaan" which means "Hello!" Learning Arabic encouraged me to travel to a country where they speak the language.
