The Euro. Every American dollar is about 87% as 'expensive' as a Euro. The coolest thing about Euros is that you can use them to buy things all over Europe! From Spain to the Netherlands to Germany, of course. It's very handy. The second coolest thing about Euros is that they all have pictures of bridges and windows on them, which was purposefully done to symbolize how the Euro connects many cultures of Europe.
I joined some of my Coworkers for a Halloween celebration! Although Halloween isn't traditionally celebrated in Germany, in modern Germany you'll find many people dressed up in costumes. Some children even trick or treat! I especially enjoyed the Halloween party because we made pumpkin soup as we carved. Kürbiscremesuppe (pumpkin cream soup) is very popular as a warm dish in autumn, and I really enjoyed getting to try it- and to pocket the recipe!
I learned a new game called Cabo. My German friends insist it's not German in origin, but they also admit they've never seen it played anywhere else. It's very, very popular here, and it's a mix of Memory and Uno with some extra little twists. It's fun, I'd love to teach you!
