¿Qué tal? What's up? My name is India Kirssin, and I'm a 23-year-old from Cincinnati, Ohio. In college, I moved to North Carolina to attend Elon University. I like to read, cook, hike, play soccer, travel, and hang out with my friends. Luckily, both Ohio and North Carolina consist of great cities and parks to explore. During college, I studied International Relations, Spanish, and Latin America. My undergraduate research looked at the ways university students protested General Pinochet's dictatorship in Chile in the 1980s, combining my areas of study with my interest in educational spaces and systems. My degrees and experiences, along with my love for traveling, led me to a job teaching English in Santiago de Compostela, Spain last year. I lived in Spain for nine months traveling, making new friends, gaining teaching experience, and practicing my Spanish. Eager to live abroad again, I applied to the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. I was fortunate enough to receive a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Fellowship in Argentina! I will move to Argentina (I am not sure to which city yet!) in March and spend the school year as an Assistant English Teacher with students studying to teach English like me! I am excited to meet you, share my journey with you, and get to know you this school year!
