I am also a part of a Facebook group that teaches students the Māori language, which includes simple phrases and greetings. I was excited about this opportunity to learn more following up on my earlier museum visit! Many people in the group are interested in the culture, learning the language or want to share their knowledge with each other. A common greeting is "Kia ora" which translates to "Hello", or "Hi." I learn new phrases and about the Māori culture each day.
I'll end this entry with "Hei konā mai," which means "Goodbye for now!"
