Interview with Facundo

What chores do you have at home?:

The only chore I have to do is clean up after my dogs when they go to the bathroom. Sometimes I also clean my bedroom.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My mom is a teacher at Escuela Italiana XXI Abril, a school in Mendoza where they teach English, Spanish, and Italian language and culture. My mom does not speak a lot of Italian, though. My dad works in the office at Escuela Carmen Vera Arenas, the school we are at right now. He is a secretary.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

School starts at 7:30 a.m. and the school day ends at 12:25 p.m.. I am usually home around 1:00 p.m., since I cannot walk home.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

I always go to school with my dad, because we are going to the same place every morning. I take the bus with my dad or we take the train. Sometimes we drive in his car. If we have to use public transportation, we also have to walk 1.5 kilometers (one mile), too.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

I eat lunch at my house, but sometimes I eat lunch at my grandma's house. When my grandma cooks, she makes me chicken with tumeric and lemon. We eat the chicken with rice or noodles. Sometimes she makes me mashed potatoes, too. My favorite food is spaghetti with pesto, ground beef and cheese.

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

At school I speak Spanish, except during English class with Miss Leah and Ms. Fernanda.
