Lots of students play touch rugby, which is a less aggressive version of rugby, and netball. Netball is similar to basketball, but not quite the same. Netball has different rules, court sizes, and team sizes compared to basketball. Some students enjoy sports such a fencing as well.
The combined response at the moment were different characters from the British version of the TV show Traitors. It's very popular and if you spend enough time in the supermarket or on the train, you are bound to catch a conversation about it, children or not.
The answer is American music, primarily. Students told me about the rappers they like, and pop singers like Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo. In this digital age, it's hard to escape listening to American music, even when halfway around the world.
The answers ranged depending on the age group I asked. The younger children gave me responses such as singers, astronaut, and a few doctors. The secondary school children gave me more catered responses to their GCSEs, with responses like farmer, teacher, chemist, and receptionist (like Pam from the Office, which was the follow up to their answer.)
New York. Everyone I meet who finds out I'm from New Jersey begins to tell me how much they would love to visit New York, wondering how often I go myself. Some want to try New York pizza and bagels.
