Oi gente! It's a pleasure to share my study abroad experience with you. I hope you find my stories interesting and insightful. I hope to inspire everyone reading this to envision themselves as travelers with a passion for exploration.

I begin my journey with this quote by Dr. Seuss:

"The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you will learn, the more places you will go."

I believe this quote has a lot to do with why I am studying abroad right now. My mother would often say this quote to me and my brother as children in order to encourage us to read. Books open a world where anything is possible. Through reading, I traveled the world from the comfort of my home in the Bronx. From an early age, I imagined having the world in my hands. By this I mean, I imagined that the world was always available to me and that there was nothing to stop me from exploring it. I imagined living out of a suitcase, going from place to place and making a home in each one. After memorizing world maps and reading books about different cultures, I had a sense of where I wanted to visit. For example, my interest in Greek mythology would someday lead me to the Parthenon, in Greece. Likewise, my interest in the Hindu faith would carry me to India.
