I learned a lot about Salvador's African heritage at the cultural institutes. I tried new things like an Afro-Brazilian dance class, Capoeira class and even played in a band. I also met very nice people who have made me feel comfortable. Most importantly, I am constantly challenging myself to try new things and to gain confidence speaking the local language. I am excited to share the remainder of my time in Brazil with you!
