As summer transitions into fall, it has started to rain a lot here. The Netherlands is known for having overcast, rainy weather but the air temperature has been pretty warm so it has still been okay to bike around town.
Since I did not leave the city this week, I did not see too many animals. But I did see several people walking their pet dog. By talking to one of these dog owners I learned that there are no stray dogs in The Netherlands because people cannot sell dogs, so everyone has to adopt from a shelter instead.
The coolest thing I saw in nature this week was probably all the fall leaves changing colors. It was quite pretty and reminded me of fall colors back home in Virginia.
Because The Netherlands is very far north (farther north than even Maine), the days are short during the Winter and long during the Summer.
