Hello! My name is Jessica and I am from Chicago, Illinois. Chicago is where I grew up, and it is a very big and beautiful city. There are so many things to see and do all year long. In the summer, I love to ride my bike near the water at Navy Pier. It is fun to see the boats and watch the Ferris wheel. In the winter, Chicago has bright decorative lights and Christmas markets where people shop and drink hot chocolate. I enjoy spending time outside, whether I am walking in my neighborhood or traveling to the mountains to go hiking.
I am also a college student. I study psychology at Saint Xavier University in Chicago. Psychology is the study of how people think, feel and act. I have always been curious about how people are different, and I wanted to learn about new places, too. Even though I can be shy, I knew that trying something new would help me grow and discover the world beyond my own neighborhood. That is why I decided to study abroad in Florence, Italy.
I will not lie... at first, it was definitely a little scary deciding to move to a different country. I knew absolutely no one going into this. It was also my first time on a 12 hour plane ride!
