안녕하세요! Hello Mr. Lara's class! My name is Jessie and I'm so excited to embark on this journey together in South Korea. I hope to share my adventures around the country with you, what it's like to be a student in South Korea, and all the amazing food I get to try every day. There is so much neat stuff to share but living in another country can also require a huge learning curve and take lots of courage. Fortunately, being resilient is something everyone can develop and there are so many opportunities for growth when you try new things!
When I was little, my family moved from New York to Georgia and I feel that inspired a zest for travel and learning about different communities around the world in me. When I graduated high school, I joined the Air Force in hopes of living abroad but I was stationed in New Mexico instead. New Mexico was very different from Georgia so I still had a blast exploring the desert Southwest and the heavy Mexican/Spanish influence in the state. In the Air Force, I was a weather forecaster and I kept planes safe while they flew around the world. Learning about the weather and climate gave me a passion for the environment and protecting the land and ocean.
