Buna Ziua! (Good day!) We’re Jimmy and Kelly! I’m a high school English teacher(Jimmy) and Kelly works as a pharmacist. We met each other three years ago on a 200-mile relay race across Texas. We strive to keep up the pace of adventure to this day. Our dream has been to live and work in a new country, learn the language and meet new people from a different culture! This year we are moving from Texas to a city called Bucharest (boo-kah-resht) in Romania. With over two million people, it’s the biggest place we’ve ever lived in and one of the biggest cities in Europe.
I just finished my Masters of Education program at Southern Methodist University and I'm teaching writing, literature and cultural issues in the American Studies Department at the University of Bucharest. I play guitar and saxophone and love everything music-related. I enjoy the outdoors and challenging myself to get out of my comfort zone.
Kelly is a pharmacist. She loves biology, art and funny Netflix shows--but most of all, travel! She had been planning on taking a few months off work to travel, but when I received the scholarship to work in Romania, she was overjoyed that she could join me on the adventure.
