It has been quite a journey.

I arrived to Spain in the beginning of September, and now it's the middle of March! Time is winding down quickly and I am slowly realizing just how little time I have left here. Instead of feeling down that my time is up, I know I should reflect and be appreciative of the memories and experiences I have created.

I can start at the beginning. I came to Spain having already put a deposit on an apartment without seeing it. I thought I was making the right decision and would be able to assimilate quicker than everyone else since I already had housing. Well, I was very much wrong. After only a week, I quickly realized this apartment was not meant for me and I would need to move! Finding the new apartment was a bit of a struggle, but eventually I managed. As soon as I thought everything was all good, I quickly found out how true the horror stories of Spanish landlords are. My room flooded, things broke, threats were made, but eventually everything fell into place, sort of. I still have the same landlord and have dealt with other issues, but as Spaniards say, no pasa nada

Teaching has been rewarding. Going to school everyday, with the students who were so excited to see me, helped me to know I am doing something right.
