Traveler Bio

Hello, my name is John Rangel, and I am from Newport, RI. I was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Newport with two of my siblings and my mother at the age of 4. Spanish was my first language and it is quiet useful for work now. I went to school in Newport, including Thompson Middle School, Rogers High School, and finished it off at Salve Regina University, where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business administration in December 2023.

While at Salve I had the opportunity to study abroad in Barcelona for a semester and received the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship which helped fund my time there. This sparked my love for travelling and I have now visited 18 countries in total. This also led me to where I am now, as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Lugones, a small town in the north of Spain. I teach at a primary and secondary school. Asturias, the region I am in, is a beautiful nature-filled area. As soon as I saw pictures of it, I knew this was where I wanted to be. I look forward to sharing my journey with you guys while here, stay tuned.
