For instance, one friend insisted that a good way to save water is to turn the water in the shower off when I am not actively using it to wash myself with, and to only use the water for bursts during rinses. Despite the environmental challenges here, many people in Amman do not seem to be so particularly bothered by the hilly layout of the city nor by the water shortage issues because this is all they have known. As a newcomer to Jordan, I feel like I have also adjusted in many ways to the environment here, such as taking to heart the many water-saving tips from others. There is a small group of people in Amman who have begun a walking group, and though I have not joined, I did walk around five miles a day before quarantine started, so that I could explore more of the city.
