Our News

What music did I listen to this week?:

This weekend I listened to a lot of Taylor Swift and Noah Kahan as usual. My favorite song this week was “Daddy Daughter Dance” by Julia Cole. I also listened to a bit of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets as an audiobook. I also got to hear some Chinese songs sung by my students this week. This week is the birthday celebration for my school, so the students have had many celebrations and performances.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

My favorite thing has been watching my students perform for the school’s birthday. They work so hard to prepare their drumming, singing, and musical instruments for these events. It makes me so proud of them to see them do so well!

What did I read this week?:

I read a lot this week, as usual. I am reading a series called Shatter Me that one of my best friends recommended, a classic novel called Wuthering Heights, and started a book by one of my favorite authors from middle school called The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I play lots of word-related games in the classes I teach. One of our favorite games to play is Wordle!

Other news from this week:

This week was my seven-month anniversary in Taiwan! It is so hard to believe that much time has already passed. It feels like I arrived just last week but it also sort of feels like I have lived here for years. Taiwan has certainly become like home to me in the few short months I have spent here.
