Здравей (Hello)! Thank you for joining me on my adventure in Bulgaria!
My name is Adelaide Randall, but you can call me Adie! I am so excited to tell you a little about myself as we begin this journey together.
I was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, a place known for deserts, cowboys, the Grand Canyon and lots of sunshine. (Fun fact: Arizona is the sunniest state in the whole United States!) Right now, I am writing to you from Gabrovo, Bulgaria, a beautiful mountain town. It is very different from the warm, sunny desert I grew up in. Gabrovo gets real snow in the winter—something I have never experienced before!
Growing up, I loved playing soccer and volleyball, dancing, and playing instruments like the piano and guitar. My favorite activity was visiting the bookstore near my house to read. I loved stories about amazing adventures and faraway places. They made me feel braver and more curious about the world!
As I got older, I wanted to learn more about people from different places and what makes us all connected. This led me to study psychology, nonprofit organizations and international studies at Arizona State University.
