There's no denying that Malaysia has a beautiful landscape. When I drive around the country, I get to see the gorgeous greens of the jungle and the impressive mountain peaks along the highway. I don't like being in a car for too long, but the views here certainly make up for it!
In my town, people drive around using a car or a motorbike. Since there isn't much public transportation, I have had to learn how to drive on the left side of the road very quickly. However, it was a small adjustment, and after about a week, I felt comfortable driving in Malaysia. My older students use their motorbikes to drive to school. I am constantly reminding them to wear their helmets!
When I tried driving on the other side of the road, I almost got into a car accident! However, I managed to drive out of the way quickly so no one was injured. Now, I am comfortable driving long distances alone in Malaysia. This is very different from what I was used to in the U.S. since I mostly took public transportation, such as taking the subway in New York City.
