Hej, I’m Julia and from Mount Prospect, Illinois. I study psychology and neuroscience on the pre-medicine track at Denison University in Ohio, but I'm currently abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark for the fall semester!
Growing up, my parents created a home that valued new experiences in many different ways: music, food, and the arts. Their countless stories of exploration inspired me to make my own. I looked online and asked friends for restaurants, performances, or art shows showcasing different countries across the globe. It made me realize how fun and important it was to learn new cultures! You never know when you may discover your new favorite food or song from exploring the unknown.
Entering college, I had the choice to travel abroad to nearly every part of the world. I decided to go to Denmark due to its rich culture that's incredibly different from mine back home. As I continue to live here for the next four months, I hope to learn more about what traditions and customs bring the people of Denmark together. I will do so by walking through the streets, visiting museums, and attending local events. I can’t wait to share all of my adventures with you!
