Because these scholarships require a high score on this exam, there is also the need to help students study enough to earn that score. One organization I work with has this goal. It is called Universidad Posible: University Possible. It is run as one of my university's volunteer programs. The volunteers show high school students who may worry they cannot afford college that it is possible for them and that there are people like us who will help them get there. Every Saturday, we tutor the students on different subjects that will be covered on the ICFES test. I volunteered with English tutoring sessions. Students who participated in Universidad Posible in previous years said they attribute their ability to attend college to this program. That goes to show what an impact a program like this can have in someone's life!
