Ik ben (my name is) Kaitlin Biagiotti, and welcome to our virtual global classroom! We are going to have fun exploring the Netherlands and parts of Europe together. I grew up in Saint James, New York, which is located on a small island (Long Island) just next to New York City. I spent my childhood visiting the general shop in my town, exploring beautiful beaches on the shore and biking around my neighborhood. It’s fitting that I should end up in Amsterdam then, where biking is the beloved mode of transportation!
For college, I went to Binghamton University where I studied biology and music. I also stayed an extra year (who doesn’t love school?!) to get an additional degree in biology education. I love being a lifelong learner and teaching students. I especially love the idea of connecting students across borders and promoting global teamwork. This led me to apply for the U.S Fulbright English Teaching Assistant grant to teach and conduct education research.
Now, I am living and conducting research in Amsterdam and teaching in Almere, which is about an hour away by bus. This is only my second time in Europe, so we have a lot to discover together!
