Living in Australia for the past four months has allowed me to learn a lot about Australia's unique culture and perspectives. Perspectives are the way that a person looks at things. It's someone's point of view. There is a fun classroom activity to learn about different perspectives. Draw the number 3 on a sheet of paper. Then, everyone stands in a circle with the paper in the middle. Start walking around the paper and you will notice that you see different things on the paper. That's an example of seeing something from different perspectives.

Because Australians live in a different culture, they have different attitudes about certain topics compared to people from the United States. Recognizing these different views has helped me better understand Australians and also myself.

One major shift in perspective is the way that Australians prioritize healthy foods. In the United States, greasy, fast food options are very popular, and there are chemicals and preservatives in certain foods that are not good for people. In Australia, there are more strict rules about what can go into foods. Some foods from the United States are banned in Australia because they too unhealthy. Australia also has smaller portion sizes and servings so that people do not overeat.
