A bottle of water can cost around 2,000 pesos, which is about $0.65 USD! Not a bad deal.
I am a vegetarian so the best meal I had this week was a vegetarian empanada. An empanada is a type of baked or fried turnover consisting of a bready outside and a filling on the inside. Normally, an empanada is filled with beef or chicken, however since mine was vegetarian, it was full of vegetables and lentils! The name empanada comes from the Spanish verb empanar (to bread), that is, to wrap or coat something in bread. The filling of an empanada is "wrapped" in bread!
This past week I listened to electronic music and reggaeton, which is a type of music that originated in Puerto Rico. It is influenced by American hip hop, Latin American music and Caribbean music. The vocals include rapping and singing in Spanish.
