José Carlos: From Cartagena to Mexico City

What types of clothing do you like to wear?:

I wear some guayaberas in Tabasco and Cartagena because they are elegant, yet breathable so that I can stand the heat. In the cooler weather of Mexico City, I like to wear jeans and sweaters.  When I am in my apartment, I like to wear joggers and sweatshirts.

What do you like to do in your free time?:

I love to play sports and board games. I also like to draw and try to meditate daily. I like to eat hamburgers, although tacos, specifically tacos al pastor, are my favorite food. Finally, I like to walk around Mexico City with my girlfriend and try new restaurants.

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

I speak Spanish, English and basic Portuguese. The direct translation of hello is “hola” in Spanish.  If you want to use a more colloquial phrase you can say "¿Qué onda?" to greet someone in Mexico.

Do you have pets?:

No, but I would like to own a bulldog.  As a kid, I had a dog named Napoleon.  We called him Napo as a nickname. I also had a rabbit named rabbit, two birds named Pico rojo and Pico roja, and a beta fish named Pez.

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

I have traveled mainly around the American continent.  I have traveled to Colombia many times with my family.  I have travelled to many states in the U.S., including California, New York, Massachusetts, Washington D.C., Louisiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma.  I have also travelled to Panama, the Dominican Republic, Belize and Costa Rica.
