Korean is the main language spoken in South Korea, but many people also speak some level of English. I have met a few people who speak Japanese and Chinese as well, which is cool because I studied Japanese in college, as well as Korean.
We use South Korean Won cash everywhere we go, but debit cards are international, so I can use my American bank card. It's nice to be from a western country, at times, because our money has higher value, meaning that when I go to pay for something, it costs less to me because of conversion rates.
One bottle of water here costs 500 to 950 won, which is equivalent to around fifty to ninety cents.
My best meal this week had to be Korean Barbeque, which is nothing like American barbeque. In the U.S., we usually grill different types of meat over some sort of charcoal, but here BBQ is done inside a restaurant, and not outside! There's also no barbeque sauce involved, which took me a long time and a trip to Korea to understand.
