I also enjoy walking around and taking photos because I appreciate the way photos tell a story about what you were doing on a particular day at a particular time.
Now that you know a little bit about what is going on with me right now, allow me to tell you some more about how I ended up where I am.
I was born on November 6th, 1996 in Hoboken, New Jersey to two immigrant parents. My mother came to the United States from the Dominican Republic when she was just 17 years old, and my father came from Nicaragua as an adult. My mom thought it was super important for me to learn Spanish, and as a result, I can speak, read and write both Spanish and English. I’ve also gotten the opportunity to travel to Central America and the Dominican Republic to meet some family members over the years. The traveling I was able to do while I was younger made me feel like traveling was something I wanted to make a priority as I got older. I love going new places, because whenever I am somewhere unfamiliar not only do I get to learn about new cultures, but I’ve found I also learn more about my home in the process. You end up comparing the similarities and the differences between your new destination and your home in a way that is really eye-opening.
My current home base is Allentown, Pennsylvania. I moved there from New Jersey when I was six years old and I think it really is a great city to grow up in. Allentown is the third most-populous city in Pennsylvania, and it is in a wonderful location. You can go to New York City, Philadelphia or the beach in under two hours! At home, I live with my mom, my stepdad, an eight-year-old sister and a six-year-old brother.
