The Kids Life in Belgium

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

When we are in high school we can go to school by ourselves. Now, we don't goto to school by ourselves, our parents take us or the bus takes us to school.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

We eat lunch is a small cafeteria and have to bring water with us. The school serves hot and cold meals. They don't like sugary food and told our parents not to give us any. One of our favorite foods is vegetable soup served with a small baguette.

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

Language is very important in Belgium, the Dutch and French have many angry arguments over the language used in schools. We are taught the language of the region (Dutch-Flanders, French-Wallonia), and English as a second language. We are then offered a chance to learn a third language such as German. We say, "Hallo," in Dutch!

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

Lucas, Mila, Finn, Emma, Louis, Olivia, Liam, Louise, Noah and Elise

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

We are offered a liberal arts curriculum, where we are given a chance to study every subject. Once we are in secondary school we can focus on studying what we are passionate about. One of our favorite subjects is computer science because there are many European countries looking for more computer scientists.

What is your homework like?:

We work together on the homework with our teachers never give assignments on the weekends or holidays.
