Everyone in Seville speaks Spanish--other than most of the tourists! Unlikein northern Spain or more populated cities, the people of Seville do not normally speak English. While living here, this fact has pushed me to communicate more and practice my Spanish. Everyone has been super-kind and patient with me!
Spain uses the euro, which is a form of money used by a large group of European countries that are a part of the European Union. The euro has been in use since 2001, but before that Spain had their own form of currency called the Peseta.
Usually water costs around 2 euros which is $2 and 16 cents in the U.S. dollars. Unlike in the United States, you have to pay for water at a restaurant, here, unless you specifically ask for tap water. ¿Me pones un vaso de agua? means “Can I have a glass of water?” in Spanish and signifies that you want tap water.
