The farthest I traveled was to Granada this weekend, which is 159 miles away from Seville. It was a 3 hour drive there and back, but totally worth it!
I have been lucky enough to travel a lot during my time in Spain, mostly to other cities or towns inside the country. This past weekend I went to Bath in the United Kingdom to visit my best friend from school, but the farthest I traveled in all my time here has been my trip to Athens, Greece. Seville is 2525 miles away from Athens, and we did have a pretty long plane trip to get there.
This week I mostly took the bus to my classes and to get back home at the end of the day. I also did a lot of walking, thanks to the beautiful weather!
By far, the Alhambra with my program. It was beautiful and so educational. I loved seeing the centuries-old architecture and history that the old fortress has to offer. I really enjoy learning about this unquie connection to Muslim culture that Southern Spain has. Also the fact that after the Catholic monarchy conquered the town of Granada, they kept the stronghold and only added on. Seeing two very diferent artistic motives towards a building is always super-interesting.
