La Dolce Vita - The Sweet Life

Florence is also known for its quality leather, so I like to wear comfortable leather shoes or a pair of loafers.

What do you like to do in your free time?:

I enjoy going to parks and reading. My favorite is Giardino dell'Orticoltura. It is a beautiful small park frequented by people with their pets! I also enjoy going to get gelato. My favorite ice cream shop is La Strega Nocciola. My favorite flavour is the crema all'arancia (Orange and Cream).

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

My first language is Italian, but I can also speak English. It is very common for people here to learn English because our schools put a lot of emphasis on kids learning English. To say "Hello" in Italian, you say "Ciao" or "Salve."

Do you have pets?:

I used to have a Pomeranian named Bella, who unfortunately passed away two years ago.

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

It is very easy to travel around Europe. I have been to many European countries. The ones I loved the most were Spain and France. I haven't been to the United States, but I hope I will be able to go soon.

What do you do for work?:

I am a professor of English at the Università di Firenze. I love my job because my classes are usually small, and I like to make the class a lively conversation among the students. I am convinced that the best way to learn a new language is to speak it as much as possible; it doesn't matter if you make mistakes!

Is there anything else you would like to say to students in the United States?:

I hope you visit Florence one day!
